The Archives and Research Library consists of over 1,300 linear feet of personal papers and manuscripts, organizational records and photographic materials; printed works such as histories, geneologies, catalogues, maps, and atlases; audio and videotape pertaining to all aspects of Greenwich history, Bush-Holley Historic Site and the Cos Cob Art Colony.
William E. Finch Jr. Archives
The William E. Finch, Jr. Archives houses information about Greenwich’s growth and change as reflected through the papers, publications, photographs, and ephemera of local residents, homes, businesses, institutions and organizations. The Archives serves as the official repository for the records of the Cos Cob Art Colony (Holley-MacRae papers); the Mystery Club; and the papers of Anya Seton.
Reference Library
A small reference library is available to those who visit the Archives. This library contains books relating to Greenwich and the surrounding area and includes biographies; genealogies; newspapers; directories; works by Greenwich authors; materials relating to American art, life, and culture; and material pertaining to historic preservation.
Reproduction
Photocopies and digital photo-reproduction services are available for a fee. Permission to publish reproductions of material owned by the Historical Society must be obtained from the archivist before publication; there is a separate publication fee.

Hours
Open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., or by special appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays.
There is no charge for visiting the archives.

Research Services
A member of the staff is available to assist with research queries in the Archives during open hours by telephone (203-869-6899 x23) or through email "researcher." Questions received from researchers off-site will be answered as time allows.
